Steps

Step 1

Peel the green plantain lengthwise. Cut it into circles that's one inch thick. In a skillet, heat the cooking oil over medium-high heat. Toss the plantain rounds in the skillet once the oil is hot. The plantains need to be sautéed for a maximum of two minutes on each side, or until they are crispy and golden. After they've been cooking, softly flatten them down using the back of a spoon or a fork. Following take the fried plantains out of the skillet, set them on a platter wrapped with paper towels to absorb the oil that remains. While the patacones are still warm, sprinkle them with salt.

Step 2

Cook the guacamole while the patacones are cooling. Remove the pit out of a ripe avocado, cut it in half, and scoop out the flesh into a bowl. Taking a fork, mash the avocado until the ideal consistency is achieved. To the mashed avocado, add the lime juice and minced garlic. Stir until all components are properly mixed. If necessary, add more salt or lime juice to the seasoning after trying the guacamole.
