Steps

Step 1

Prepare teriyaki sauce: In a small bowl, stir collectively gluten-free soy sauce or tamari, maple syrup or brown sugar, rice vinegar, sesame oil, and grated ginger until nicely combined. Set aside.

Step 2

Marinated chicken: Place chicken breasts in a shallow bowl or resealable plastic bag. Pour half of the prepared teriyaki sauce over the meat, making sure to coat it properly. Reserve the final sauce for later. Cover the dish or seal the bag and place the meat inside the refrigerator to marinate for at least 15 minutes.

Step 3

Cook the Chicken: Preheat a grill or pan over medium-high flame. Remove the meat from the marinade and discard any extra marinade. Grill the chicken for 6-8 minutes until cooked and is now the right color from the middle. The internal temperature should be 165°F (74°C).

Step 4

Prepare the teriyaki glaze: While the meat is cooking, add the reserved teriyaki sauce to a small saucepan. Bring the sauce to a simmer over medium flame. If possible, mix 1 teaspoon of cornstarch and 1 tablespoon of water to thicken the sauce. Cook for 2-3 minutes, stirring occasionally, till the sauce thickens.

Step 5

Once the chicken is cooked, remove it from the grill and permit it to rest for a couple of minutes. Slice chicken breast into strips or cubes. Pour the teriyaki glaze over the chicken slices. Garnish with sliced onions and sesame seeds. Serve Low FODMAP Teriyaki Chicken immediately with rice.
