Steps

Step 1

In a big, nonstick pan, heat the oil and sauté the onion and fennel for 10 minutes, turning periodically, until they become tender. In the meantime, heat some water in a skillet and cook the spaghetti for ten minutes, or until it's al dente.

Step 2

Stir in the garlic, fennel and onion mixture, lemon zest, and juice once it has melted. Stir in the tomato purée and cook for a few minutes, stirring constantly.
