Steps

Step 1

Flush the Rice: Put the basmati rice in a great-mesh strainer and wash under water till the water runs clean. This expels an overabundance of starch and prevents the rice from getting sticky.

Step 2

Add the Flavors: In a medium pan, heat the ghee or butter over medium heat. Include all the cloves, cardamom, and cinnamon in the pan. Toast the flavors inside the ghee for 1-2 mins until aromatic, blending once in a while to avoid burning.

Step 3

Include Rice and Water: Include the washed basmati rice in the pot with the toasted flavors. Mix well to coat the rice with the ghee and flavors. Pour in the water and salt to taste. Blend delicately to combine.

Step 4

Stew the Rice: Bring the water to a boil over medium flame. Once the mixture has begun to bubble, reduce the heat and cover the pot with a suitable covering. Stew the rice for 12-15 minutes, or till all the water is retained and the rice is soft. Avoid blending the rice during cooking to prevent it from becoming too soft.

Step 5

Lighten and Serve: Once the rice is cooked, remove the pot from the flame and allow it to sit, secured, for 5 minutes to steam. Remove the top and cushion the rice tenderly with a fork to remove the grains. Dispose of the entire cloves, and cardamom.

Step 6

Put the Fragrant Basmati Rice in a serving dish beautify it with fresh cilantro leaves and serve.
