Dairy-Free Scallion Pancakes

A savoury Chinese meal that's great as a snack or side dish is scallion pancakes. Scallions add a bright and grееn tastе to thеsе crispy and flaky pancakеs. The tastе is amazing and arе rеally simplе to makе.

Step 1

Mix the salt and all-purpose flour in a mixing dish. Gradually add warm water to the flour mixture while stirring with a wooden spoon until a rough dough forms. On a surface dusted with flour, knead the dough for approximately five minutes, or until it gets elastic and smooth. Shape it into a ball.

Step 2

Divide the dough into two equal portions. Roll each portion into a thin, flat circle (about 8 inches in diameter) using a rolling pin. Brush the surface of one of the dough circles with vegetable oil. Sprinkle half of the chopped scallions evenly over the oiled dough. Place the other dough circle on top of the scallion-covered one, and press the edges to seal them.

Step 3

Add a little amount of vegetable oil to a nonstick pan and heat it over medium heat. Carefully transfer the pancake to the hot skillet and cook for about 2-3 minutes on each side, or until it turns golden brown and crispy. Remove the scallion pancake from the skillet, cut it into wedges, and serve hot.
