Step 1

First of all, take a big bowl, mix cornmeal, butter, mozzarella cheese and salt in water and prepare a soft dough, then make medium-sized balls of the dough, keep them in plastic wrap and roll them to appropriate thickness with a rolling pin.

Step 2

Next, to cut the rolled dough into a circle, remove it from the plastic wrap and press down on the dough with the top edge of a cereal bowl or water glass. Throw away whatever is left after cutting the circle.

Step 3

Finally, apply cooking spray to the pan and heat it over medium-high heat, then place the arepas on it and cook for about 5 minutes on each side or until golden brown.
