Step 1

Preheat your oven according to the cupcake mix instructions. Bake the cupcake batter according to the recipe on the box. Add green food colouring to achieve a vibrant green colour. Line a cupcake pan with cupcake liners. Pour the batter into the cupcake liners, filling each about 2/3 full. Bake according to the instructions on the cupcake mix box. Before icing, let the cupcakes cool fully.

Step 2

Beat the softened butter until it becomes creamy in a large bowl. Gradually add powdered sugar, beating well after each addition. Add vanilla extract and milk, adjusting the consistency as needed. Until the mixture is fluffy and smooth, beat it. Once the cupcakes are cool, frost each one with the green buttercream.

Step 3

Use holiday sprinkles and decorations to create ornaments on the Christmas tree cupcakes. Break pretzel sticks into small pieces and insert them into the base of each cupcake as tree trunks. If desired, add mini candy canes for extra holiday flair. Arrange the cupcakes on a serving platter to resemble a Christmas tree.
