Description

One of Indonesian favourite savoury snacks. It’s very easy and simple to make. In Indonesia we called it “Bakwan Sayur” and this is one of our favourite street foods.

Steps

Step 1

You also can put bean sprouts, spring union and chopped of chillies if you like it spicy.

Step 2

Place all of the ingredients in a big bowl then slowly start to mix, adding in cold water little by little until it's mixed into a thin and runny batter but don’t make it too thick otherwise it won't be crunchy.

Heat up the oil in a large frying pan or wok. Make sure the oil is hot

Drop a spoonful of batter into the hot oil and fry until golden brown each side then

Once cooked, remove the fritters and place on a kitchen towel

You can enjoy it with fresh fingers chilli or chilli jam (sambal)
