Steps

Step 1

Prepare the jackfruit: Drain the canned jackfruit and rinse beneath water to put off the excess salt. Using your fingers or a fork, cut the jackfruit into small pieces and at last remove all seeds.

Step 2

To saute the jackfruit: Heat the olive oil in a massive pot over medium warmth. Add the chopped onion and minced garlic to the pan and sauté until it’s tender, approximately 2-3 minutes. Add the chopped jackfruit to the pot together with the chili powder, cumin, paprika, salt, and pepper. Stir the jackfruit properly with the spices.

Step 3

Cook the jackfruit: Pour vegetable broth or water into a saucepan to moisten the jackfruit and make a sauce. Stir to mix well. Cook jackfruit sauce, stirring it a little, until heated thoroughly and lightly caramelized for 8-10 mins.

Step 4

Warm the tortillas: While the jackfruit is cooking, heat the tortillas in a dry skillet over medium heat or in the microwave for a few seconds till it’s smooth.

Step 5

Assemble the tacos: Place a spoonful of the cooked jackfruit mixture on top of every tortilla. Top the tacos with your favorite toppings, such as shredded lettuce, diced tomatoes, sliced ​​avocado, salsa, cilantro, or a squeeze of lime juice.

Step 6

Serve jackfruit tacos immediately with extra toppings and lime wedges.
